Kinyaki Kinyaki – Head of Finance and StrategyKinyaki is a Certified Public Accountant and a registered member of the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA) in Tanzania. He currently serves as the Head of Finance and Strategy at the Co-operative Bank of Tanzania, where he plays a critical role in shaping the bank’s financial direction, operational strategy, and regulatory compliance framework. Kinyaki was instrumental in the successful transformation and amalgamation of Kilimanjaro Cooperative Bank Limited (KCBL) and Tanzania Cooperative Bank Limited (TCBL) into a single national entity the Co-operative Bank of Tanzania. He led key financial workstreams throughout the merger, including due diligence, and post-merger integration. With over a decade of experience spanning EPC projects, oil and gas, audit and assurance, social security, and maritime logistics, Kinyaki brings a unique blend of technical expertise and strategic insight. He holds a Master of Science in Finance from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow (UK), and a Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting) from Tumaini University (now University of Iringa). His experience ranges from grassroots operational roles to senior leadership positions in both local and international organizations. He has strong expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, asset and payroll management, internal controls, and policy development. Kinyaki’s audit background covers a wide array of clients, including multinational oil and gas companies, insurance firms, NGOs, government agencies, and religious institutions. This exposure has strengthened his command of IFRS, ISA, and risk-based financial practices. He is a results-oriented leader known for delivering strategic financial solutions, building high-performing teams, and fostering institutional accountability. His strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills enable him to lead with confidence in dynamic and evolving environments. |
